Free overview of the Windowfarms project and Windowfarming 12:30-1pm. Bring your own lunch.

Dinner Workshop

We will cover

• What it is like to have a windowfarm, how it works, and some hydroponics basics
• Get you oriented on our community website so you know where to go to find answers and ask questions
• Laying out your system if your window does not happen to be the typical 4'x6'
• What kinda plants you gonna grow? We will have lots of seeds and fancy starter plugs to get your first crop started!

Please bring

• Your dinner and, if you like, extra to share
• Cash or a check for $25 for the workshop and materials fee
• As many 1.5 Liter Poland Springs or Deer Park bottles (only this kind!!) as you can gather between now and then

Preparatory homework

• Please take the measurements below for your window(s)
• Try to take a picture of the window(s) and print it out on 8.5" x 11" paper (extra credit!!)
• Observe the light patterns in your window. Approximate the number of hours of sunlight (direct? indirect?)

If you are hoping someone else will be a workshop leader in your area and just want to find your local scene, check out the Windowfarms Community Site groups, see if there is a group one in your area, register on the site, and then arrange a meetup with other windowfarmers in your area, We will soon lead remote trainings for people who are willing to be Windowfarms Workshop leaders in other areas.
